Special teams:
I like how our kickoff return unit shaped up today other than one missive by the deep returner.
I love the idea of having Malleo, Smith, Johnson on this team. Roberson was deep and someone else but I couldn't make out his number over on the other field. Whoever he was, I presume someone young, learned a little bit today.
Punt team: Petersen looked pretty decent. Heck, other than that blistering wind against Purdue he looked decent last year. Primarily worked on kicks inside the 20. Rock was intensely coaching this unit. The gunners on the end had to step it up bigtime after they realized Rock wouldn't accept anything less than gamelike speed and intensity. Overall I would say Peterson did a pretty decent job getting the ball inside the 20.
FG unit: Looked decent. Not sure but I believe Mansfield is the snapper. Howells is the kicker. Adam is second string kicker it appears. Looked pretty solid but as you know, with FG kicking it's all mental come game day.
Kickoff team: instructional for the most part, hard to see the execution or intensity without full contact.
