                "Finally Brethren"

To those who have ears to hear
T
he other day, when I came to the book of II Thessalonians, chapter 3, verse one, I came to one of those awesome ending statements, "Finally Brethren".  I've realized that when I read the epistles, and try to get my fill of its manna, when I come to these 'finally brethren', they may be last but certainly not least.
It sez,

"Finally Brethren, "pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you."

"Free Course"
What a powerful statement, the power of prayer is an action we can do that gives the word of the Lord an unhindered course!  No stumblingblocks.

You know, there have been times in my life where I just knew prayer was involved. Times when I wasn't praying but I knew someone else had to be.
Times when things happened in my life, times when things were revealed to me, stumblingblocks removed, and paths paved that had nothing to do with me.   But what I need to realize moreso than I do, is it isn't about me, it is about others. Have I prayed for others? I fall desperately short in that area.  Often, even while I'm praying I fall asleep, I hope that hasn't happened to you.

But it's our duty to pray, we are commanded to pray.  And it's powerful, it can change lives, break bondages, bring revival, etc.
Do you love your family? Your spouse? Your Pastor? Your Church?  Your enemy? Let us pray for them all continually. It takes great power to pray for your enemy but such is the power of God.
Let's be reminded to pray for others. Let's be reminded to pray for our family, our pastor, our church, even our enemy.  In doing so, the word of the Lord has free course!

There's alot of hurt in this lost and dying world. Fractured people, fractured families, and even fractured churches and communities. Let us pray so that the word of the Lord may have "Free Course" and be glorified, even as it is with you.

For the Lord with Sword held high
Peace!
