| Back Tidbits: Howard: I went up to Kenosha thinking there would be some talk of Loren by the players but not much talk of him. I was really surprised that the only talk of him seems to be manufactured in the papers. I don't think the team really misses him. IMO, probably because he hasn't been around over the last 18 months anyways and as I heard didn't even practice with the other team members over the summer. As a fan, I miss him and I'm sure most fans will but we are left to only wish him the best in life. One personal note I might add, that all the media reports seem to suggest that they are getting a great deal of information from 'someone'. Someone is no doubt manufacturing the media circus and its publicity regarding Howard and why he left. Whoever it is should step up as opposed to having a newspaper girl journalist speak for someone behind a curtain. And I am not suggesting that person is anyone in particular but it IS SOMEONE. I thought Rock was very humble in a few articles and came across very professional. But make no mistake, Loren left because of Loren, not Rock, not Washington, not nobody! Nuff said! Keenan: Twisted his ankle yesterday and didn't practice. Xrays didn't show any breaks, etc. and it was reported that he felt much better this morning. Keenen has the potential to be all big10 at 295 [his weigh in weight] together with a 4.8 quickness. We need this dude bad and I hope he is back before weekend. Rucks filled in with the starters. Crum: Noticeably limping during the middle of practice. Not sure of report or if perhaps just tired but IMO, he was limping. Ferguson: Too bad but I was looking for him and couldn't find him, anywhere. Is he with the team or still on it? Other injuries: It appeared Tuesdays practice went very well with no apparent injuries sustained. Overall, I counted 13 orange shirts and probably about 4 red ones. Heinz was one of the orange shirts. Good news is that I haven't heard that any of these injuries are of serious nature. We need Heinz bigtime and the fans certainly hope he isn't hurt too bad. |
